Factors to Consider when Setting the Twin Cam Pop Off Valve

Again, pop off valve bench setting is a great place to start when trying to improve your Twin Cam oil pressure. But, you also have to consider the mileage and wear on your engines components. Rocker arm bushings play a critical role in maintaining proper oil pressure and are often overlooked in an engine rebuild. Since rocker arms swing in an arc and not completely around, make sure that they are not egg shaped and the specs between rocker shaft and bushing are correct.

O-Rings & Harley Twin Cam Engines

O-Rings play a huge role in sealing the oil pressure routes in a Twin Cam engine. A sliced or damaged o-ring can mean Twin Cam oil pressure problems. O-Rings seal the oil pump, camplate and don't forget, underneath the rocker arm support plate.
